Co-branding is the future of loyalty and rewards programs. Case in point: United Airline’s MileagePlus X app. In response to customer desires for more flexibility in their rewards program, United Airlines has piloted an interesting approach. With the MileagePlus X app, United Airlines stores your frequent flyer account information, and rewards you every time you use the app to make a purchase at one of their participating retailers, like Gap, Lowe’s or Toys-R-Us, to name a few.
